Facial Hair Growth & My Electrolysis Hair Removal Experience

This is kind of embarrassing to post about but I know that my experience can help others. For years I have been struggling with female facial hair growth and hyper-pigmentation because of it.
I don't mean just your barely there mustache hair but hair that grows in thick noticeable patches on my chin, neck, and the left side of my face. I also get painful bumps from ingrown hair and dark spots. I have been shaving and trying different aftershave products that are supposed to help treat or prevent irritation. Nothing has quite worked for longer than a couple of weeks to a month if at all.

Something like this makes you feel abnormal as woman and self- conscious. I did my research on the laser hair removal procedure and decided it wasn't for me. The cost and the chance of hair growing right back definitely deterred me. So for years I've just been dealing with this unwanted hair growth with no real solution. It wasn't until the end of last year that I was introduced to electrolysis hair removal.

Electrolysis devices destroy the growth center of the hair with a chemical or heat energy. A tiny needle is inserted into each hair follicle individually and the hair is removed with tweezers. Sounds uncomfortable and even painful but it's a small price to pay to permanently destroy the hair follicle. I made an appointment with a recommended specialist right away!

My first treatment was a consultation that included a 15 minute session. I will be honest and say that this procedure definitely stings. You feel a burning sensation for about 2 seconds for each hair that is being removed. On a scale from 1-10 the pain is probably about a 6 or 7 in certain areas. It's nothing I can't handle so I will likely have to have several more sessions to remove all the hair from my face and neck.

I will be uploading a video speaking more about the topic of female facial hair growth on my YouTube channel some time this year. Looking forward to my results and final thoughts on this treatment as well.
