Summer Sixteen Reflection

I've had quite the summer this year though I'm totally ecstatic for the fall season! Summer ending is bittersweet because it means we're nearly through the year. This has been a summer of first's that will make 2016 one of my favorites of all time!

I quit my job back in March and this summer was the first summer I shoot photography full time. I had quite a few jobs and met great people this summer all while doing what I love. Working for myself has been a dream of mine for a long time. It was such a big leap of faith that I took and it has been one of the most rewarding things I've done. Entrepreneurship isn't for everyone but I've found my passion and it just happens to pay my portion of the bills.

My second favorite first from this year was visiting friends in California. I had only passed through California when I was visiting Nevada. A friend of mine lives there and a couple of our other friends traveled from Houston. It was a blast! We visited several beaches with Laguna beach being my absolute favorite! We also enjoyed just driving around and made sure to get a glimpse of the famous Hollywood Sign. The best part was that I was worry free due to the fact that I didn't have a job to return to the following week.

The rest of my summer I enjoyed with my husband, family and friends getting as much pool time as possible. This was one of the best summer's I've had in a few years. I wasn't boggled with work so I was able to set a schedule that works for me. Freelancing truly gave me so much freedom this summer and the same can be said going forward. It's not easy but I'm way less stressed being my own boss. I'll be attending my first fashion week in New York next week so that's already another first to add to my list for 2016!
