I'm back from my trip to NYC and I wanted to recap the experience for you guys. I landed in NYC on Thursday, September 8th right before 11:00 am. Immediately I felt a bit of anxiety along with the excitement of finally visiting New York. Especially during New York Fashion Week!
As I made my way to Manhattan with my blogger gal pals I stared out of the window in awe of how many picturesque locations we passed. As a photographer and blogger, New York has so many unique areas and land marks for photos. I actually wish that I had stopped and took images of every single thing I saw that inspired me. So I'm currently already planning on my next visit to the big apple! But back to my recent trip recap. lol
The first day we checked into our hotel and then quickly headed to grab our media credentials for Style Fashion Week New York. I didn't capture many pictures the first day but I did attend my first show at the Fashion Gallery New York for Antinoo Menswear. Designer and founder Lily Montes of Antinoo Menswear really put together a great spring/summer 17' collection. After the show we were all so exhausted from the early flights and walking around. So we called it a night. The following day (Sept. 9th) we woke up ready to do a little shopping and attend more shows that evening.
I was able to capture some images of my casual chic outfit of the day from forever 21 (Pictured above). The black crop top and tan skirt was perfect for a day of shopping and exploring. Pairing it with my gladiator style sandals from 10dollarmall.com were comfortable and paired well. In addition, I carried a black clutch and wore a cute pair of sunglasses. I received quite a few compliments and stares so I think I nailed the casual chic look I was going for. I was also more than excited to visit the famous times square and snap some photos of the city as well.
We ate, shopped and walked around the city only to realize that we were once again exhausted! So we went back to the hotel for awhile and got ourselves together in time to attend another Fashion Galley Show that evening. Jamaican Designer Vivienne Pash premiered her spring/summer 17' collection. High fashion meets island girl chic. I absolutely loved many of the dresses and pops of color. I'm looking forward to following this designers story as she continues to grow.
After that show we caught an Uber and rushed over to attend a Couture Fashion Week show. We were able to make it in just enough time because the show started a little late. We joined the other bloggers and photographers in the media area. The designers all had really great collections but the main featured designer Sushma Patel closed the show with bang!
I got only a few images of the outfit I wore that night (As pictured below). This red jumpsuit is from forever 21.com as well. I absolutely loved the fit of this jumpsuit and opted for a bold pearl statement necklace. I pinned my hair up to the side which I thought was a nice touch as well.
Stay tuned for my recap of Day 3 & 4 from my trip in a couple days!
